Rabon, an accounting major and Magellan Scholar,
presented his work titled "Corporate Governance and Return on Capital Expenditures," related to his
examination of the "effect of governance on executives and 'empire building'
behavior." Rabon's faculty advisor is Dr. Marcus Caylor, assistant professor of
accounting.

Students participating in Discovery Day have the opportunity to make poster, oral, creative, or artistic presentations, as well as visual art displays. The first Discovery Day was held in 2003.
Cash awards are given in each section. More than $9,000 in awards was given this year, according to Julie Morris, director of USC’s Office of Undergraduate Research.
