
Dr. Hoyt N. Wheeler, professor of management at the Moore School, has given
several lectures as part of his year holding the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Studies
at the University of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He is affiliated with the faculty of law there for
the 2005-2006 academic year.
Wheeler gave his inaugural lecture at the University of Frankfurt, entitled “Workers as Capitalists in the United States and Germany,” on Oct. 10. On Oct. 11 a nd 12 he gave talks at a seminar held by the University of Frankfurt Center for North American Studies in Weilburg, Germany. Those talks were entitled “American Trade Unions and Immigrant Labor” and “The Uninvited Gastarbeiter: Mexican Immigrant Workers in the United States,” respectively.
Frankfurt “is a highly international city,” Wheeler writes, “which makes it fun.”
