Faculty News

New faculty for 2006-2007


The Moore School welcomes a number of new faculty members this fall as more veteran professors retire.

Sanjay Ahire , professor of management science, holds an M.M.B. from the University of Bombay, India, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama.  Ahire was previously professor of operations management at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.


 

Nancy Buchan, associate professor of international business, is a former assistant professor of marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a Ph.D. in marketing and an MA in international studies, both from the University of Pennsylvania.


 

Bonnie Buchanan, lecturer in finance, holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Georgia and has taught courses in international finance there and more recently at the University of Melbourne in Australia. She earned an MS in statistics from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a BS in statistics from the University of New South Wales.


 

Tim Carroll, assistant professor of management, holds a Ph.D. from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He earned an MBA in international business and an MA in Latin American studies, both from the University of New Mexico. He previously served as assistant professor of strategic management at the Georgia Institute of Technology.


 

Marcus L. Caylor, assistant professor of accounting, completed his Ph.D. in accounting at Georgia State University in spring 2006 and holds an MS in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


 

Chad D. Cotti, lecturer in economics, earned his Ph.D. in economics this spring from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He holds an MPA (Public Policy and Administration) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


 

Michael R. Galbreth, assistant professor of management science, completed his Ph.D. in operations management at Vanderbilt University in spring 2006. He holds a BS in business administration, honors program, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.


 

Bikram P. Ghosh, assistant professor of marketing, earned his Ph.D. in marketing in spring 2006 from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He holds an MA in economics from Purdue and an MA in economics from the Delhi School of Economics in Delhi, India.


 

 

William H. Harrison, Jr., lecturer in finance, is president of South Colony Corporation and The Harrison Company in Charleston, South Carolina. He teaches courses in real estate principals and valuation and advanced courses in real estate finance.  He earned an MBA in international finance and real estate from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and earned a BS in physics and was first honor graduate at the Citadel in Charleston.


 

William R. Hauk, Jr., assistant professor of economics, holds a Ph.D. in political economics from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. He earned a bachelor of science in foreign service with a major in international business at Georgetown University and studied at the London School of Economics in London, England.


 

Laura Lambdin, lecturer in management, holds a Ph.D. with honors in English and an MA from the University of South Florida, Tampa. She has taught professional communications at the Moore School since January 2000, and previous served as instructor at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, and at the University of South Florida.


 

Anand Nair, assistant professor of management science, holds a Ph.D. in business administration from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Pune, India. He has recently served as assistant professor of management at Auburn University.


 

Rebecca Walker Naylor, assistant professor of marketing, earned a Ph.D. in marketing in spring 2006 from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a BS in business administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, and a BA in German and Russian, also from Trinity.


 

Orgul Ozturk, assistant professor of economics, earned her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in spring 2006 and holds an MS in economics from the same institution. She earned BA degrees in economics and sociology at Koc University-Istanbul.


 

Theodore Rodgers, assistant professor of accounting, completed his Ph.D. this spring at the University of Arizona in Tuscon. He earned a BS in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University and is a certified public accountant for the State of Arizona.


 

David M. Sluss, assistant professor of management, earned his Ph.D. in business administration at Arizona State University in Tempe in spring 2006. He holds a master of organizational behavior from Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.


 

Bradley D. Stratton, lecturer in management, holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, and a bachelor of social work from the same university. He has taught courses in professional communication at the Moore School since 1999 and is a private consultant in research and writing in Columbia.


 

C. Annique Un, assistant professor of international business, earned her Ph.D. in strategic and international management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She holds an MBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame.


 

Hong Yan, assistant professor of finance, holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in applied physics from the University of Michigan. He also holds an MS in physics from Michigan State University. He most recently served as a visiting academic scholar at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission and as assistant professor of finance at the University of Texas at Austin.


 

Shu Yan, assistant professor of finance, holds a Ph.D. in finance from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California at San Diego. He most recently served as a visiting assistant professor at the University of South Carolina and previously as assistant professor at the University of Arizona.
