Ployhart_R1.jpg Dr. Rob Ployhart , an associate professor in the Management Department and Moore Research Fellow at the Moore School, has recently been named associate editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology.

The Journal of Applied Psychology is one of the top outlets for scholarly research within the management field.  The journal primarily considers empirical and theoretical investigations of the psychological and behavioral phenomena of individuals, groups, and organizations.  Articles published in the Journal of Applied Psychology contribute to a diverse array of topics within the broad spectrum of organizational science.  Common topics include Human Resources (e.g., selection, performance measurement, and training), Organizational Behavior (e.g., motivation, job attitudes, and leadership), cross-cultural issues (e.g., values, culture, and decision making), and the utility of organizational interventions.  The journal receives over 700 new submissions per year with an acceptance rate of approximately 13 percent.  Article authors and the editorial board are composed of leading scholars from around the world.

Dr. Ployhart will serve a six-year term as associate editor beginning Jan. 1, 2008.  Previously, he has served as a full-time member of the editorial boards of six journals, a reviewer for the National Science Foundation, and an invited editor for the journals Organizational Research Methods and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.
