In 2007, the Financial Times of London ranked the Moore School of Business #1 among business schools worldwide on “international experience.” The Moore School is the only U.S. school ranked in the top 10 for “international experience,” no doubt due to the fact thatInternational MBA (IMBA) students spend seven-and-a-half months living, studying, and working in a foreign country.

Our required four- to six-month internship with an international enterprise, typically overseas, is unmatched by any business school. IMBA students gain substantial experience while immersed in a foreign culture, which allows them to transform what they have learned in the classroom into marketable, practical business skills that they can apply in real-world situations.

The IMBA program begins with two globally focused core courses—“Globalization and Corporate Responsibility” and “Global Strategic Management”—and global issues continue to permeate the entire curriculum from start to finish. Students in the Language Tracks (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish) study the language, culture, and regional business issues in countries throughout the world, for a truly full-immersion experience. Students in the Global Track learn about political and economic factors affecting the business climate of various regions throughout the world from our international faculty experts, and usually intern in an English-speaking country. If students wish to gain even more international experience, they may take elective courses at one of our 19 leading partner universities located abroad.

The Moore School of Business knows that experience is the best teacher and that life’s most important lessons can’t be found in a book. The Moore School’s innovative, experiential IMBA program creates road-ready, culturally sensitive, international business professionals who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to international organizations.

Moore School graduates succeed because they have experience that matters.
