Hildy Teegen Enhances Moore School's International Reputation


Dr. Hildy Teegen, dean, Moore School of BusinessPrior to her appointment as dean of the Moore School of Business, Dr. Hildy Teegen had been professor of international business and international affairs at The George Washington University since 1996. In October 2006, Teegen launched and directed George Washington’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

Teegen holds a doctorate in international business with specialization in marketing strategy and economic development from the University of Texas at Austin. She has written extensively about global business and interactions between firms, governments, and nongovernmental organizations. Her areas of expertise include strategic and economic valuation of resources contributed by negotiating parties,
cross-cultural interactions, the strategic and societal impact of collaboration, and associated economic development considerations.

Teegen, a recognized expert in international business negotiation, trains faculty from across the country through the U.S. Department of Education CIBER network’s Faculty Development in International Business program. She recently served as the institutions and comparative capitalism department editor of the Journal of International Business Studies and on the editorial board of the Journal of International Management.

Truly international, Teegen is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Mexico, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, and Grand Cayman. She has taught at the College of William and Mary, the University of Texas at Austin, the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico, and Universidade do Porto in Portugal.
