Biography Professor David Chappell received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1972. He was employed at a family-owned and -operated manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Ohio. After completing his MBA from Miami of Ohio in 1987, he went on to obtain his Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Colorado at Boulder in December, 1994. In addition to the University of South Carolina, he has instructed at Ohio University, Miami of Ohio, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Adams State College. He has published in Journal of Management Education, Group and Organization Studies, Economic Development Quarterly, Educational and Psychological Measurement, and Journal of Teaching in International Business. He has received the Outstanding Teaching Award from Miami University in 1989 , selected a University Professor at Ohio University in 1996 , OU Executive Advisory Board Outstanding Teacher in 1998 , and selected Most Engaged Faculty Member by the 2003 junior/senior class of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration . He has instructed at the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado for over 10 years. In addition to academic instruction, Professor Chappell is involved in international studies and numerous consulting activities. Education
