Biography Jane Willis has been with the University of South Carolina since 1990 and has served in various capacities. Prior to joining the Office of Career Management in 2001, she served as the Director of the Master of Human Resources program and as Assistant Director of the International MBA program. She began her tenure at Moore in student recruiting and admissions. Willis holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. She is a certified Birkman Consultant, and incorporates her passion for professional development and personal growth into her training of student populations and her work with executives in Moore’s Executive Education Division. She has consulted extensively with South Carolina businesses including Sonoco Products, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Roche Carolina, sharing her insights on communication, team building and leadership development. Since she began managing Moore’s Career Management Office she has introduced innovation such as a 40+hour professional development series for graduate students and a Moore School specific Career EXPO attracting top employers from around the world. Her specific areas of expertise are career planning and mapping, with a focus on relationship and personal management. This focus permeates all of Moore's career management programs and provides a unique value added experience for students and employers. She is committed to providing "transformational experiences" for students that start them on the path to successful and fulfilling careers. Willis believes that when people are doing what they enjoy, they are more successful, efficient, productive, and contented. This is the framework for successful talent acquisition and rewarding careers. It is the backbone of career management at Moore. She is a native of the Columbia area, lives in nearby Lexington with her husband and 2 teenaged
sons, and is convinced that there is no better place to live on the planet than in South Carolina.
With two degrees from USC, and after being employed by the University since 1990, she is an
avid Gamecock fan.
