Biography

Carolyn S. Jones served as the director for the Moore School’s undergraduate division from 1989 until being named assistant dean in 2003.  She is responsible for leadership of the Undergraduate Division, ensuring access to competitive and challenging academic experiences, providing student services for more than 3,700 students, and promoting a range of international opportunities and co-curricular programming.  In the summer of 2004, Dr. Jones led the school’s first international service learning program to Romania, which represented a collaboration between the Moore School, the Columbia World Affairs Council, and the City of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She spearheaded and established the Moore School Emerging Leaders Program which recognizes the top 50 business student leaders and provides additional leadership training. Dr. Jones was instrumental in the establishment of the high-performance undergraduate Case Competition Team that participates in world-class competitions highlighting strategic challenges and managerial dilemmas.  She has initiated numerous study abroad programs and strongly supports the Moore School’s faculty-led oversees study programs to Africa, China, and Eastern Europe.  Dr. Jones is an experienced administrator and a recipient of the NADA Ambassador of Global Learning Award.  As a co-recipient of the Freshman Advocate Award, she was recognized for her "extraordinary and profound" influence on the experiences of first-year students at USC.
