Biography Caroline D. Strobel is a professor of accounting at the University of South Carolina, Moore School of Business. Dr. Strobel has a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and a Master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. Dr. Strobel's primary teaching interests are tax research and estate and gift taxation. She teaches in the graduate tax program. Dr. Strobel is Director of the South Carolina Family Business Forum sponsored by the Moore School of Business. This program serves family businesses throughout the state of South Carolina by providing educational programs. She teaches a course in Family business in the IMBA program. Dr. Strobel has published in a number of leading tax journals including The Journal of the American Taxation Association, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of International Taxation, The Tax Adviser, CPA Journal, Journal of Taxation, Journal of Corporate Taxation, and Estate Planning. She is a frequent presenter at seminars and has spoken several times at the AICPA National Tax Conference in Washington, DC. Dr. Strobel has been active in the AICPA serving on the Tax Education Committee and Tax Executive Committee. She has twice chaired the South Carolina Association of CPAs Tax Committee, was a member of the Finance Committee for the Institute of Management Accountants and has served as a chapter and council president. Caroline is a former member of the Commissioners Advisory Group, Internal Revenue Service. She has received the Service Award from the South Carolina Association of CPAs and received the 1999 Service Award from the American Taxation Association for outstanding service to the Association and its members. She was named Outstanding Educator in 1996 by the South Carolina Association of CPAs and received the 2002 Service Award from the Friends of the Accounting Department. Education
